The new MOOV regulation was published today in the Official Journal. – Mobility, Occupation and Vocational Guidance Program, promoted by the Regional Secretariat for Youth, Housing and Employment, through the Regional Youth Directorate.
As anticipated, in December, the Regional Secretary of Youth, Housing and Employment, Maria João Carreiro, among the improvements now enshrined in the regulation is the inclusion of more young people among MOOV recipients and the reinforcement of financial support.
To the “MOOV Nemésio Pro” subprogram, which supports the carrying out of curricular internships integrated into level IV professional courses on another island in the Region other than the island where the young people are studying, young students who studying the 1st and 2nd years of the respective course and not just 3rd year students.
Also within the scope of this MOOV subprogram, the support grant increases from 90% to 100% of the Minimum Monthly Remuneration Guaranteed in the Region, and support has also been created for supervisors or internship coordinators for up to two trips to the island where the student is carrying out their curricular internship, valid during the internship period.
To the “MOOV Visit Pro” subprogram, which supports young people integrated into Public General Education Schools and IPSS for study visits to Professional Schools on an island other than their island of residence, young people attending High School or equivalent in General Education and not just students in the 9th year of Elementary School.
In addition to “MOOV Nemésio Pro” and “MOOV Visit Pro”, the MOOV program includes a third subprogram, “MOOV 360”, to support the implementation of short-term socio-professional internships (from 1 to 2 months, at most) on an island other than that of residence of the young intern, who is granted a scholarship worth the RMMG in the Region, increased by 5%.
For each of the subprograms, in addition to the specific support for each one, expenses for round-trip travel between the island of residence or study and the island where the young person will develop the MOOV program are covered.
MOOV was created in 2022 and constitutes an innovative program in the Region” to encourage socio-professional occupation and vocational screening among young people, highlights Maria João Carreiro.
The holder of the Youth portfolio adds that the objective of these improvements is to make this program “even more attractive” for young people, professional and public schools, IPSS and employers, with a view not only to acquiring skills and getting closer to the market of work but also a greater awareness on the part of young people of the possibilities and opportunities on each of the islands in the Region.
