Traineeships
The purpose of the ESTAGIAR programs is:
a) Provide young people with a professional internship in a real work context, which promotes their insertion into active life;
b) Complement and improve the socio-professional skills of young people, through the attendance of an internship in a real work situation;
c) Facilitate the recruitment and integration of staff in companies by carrying out professional internships;
d) Promoting the transition of young people from school to active life;
e) Support the settlement of young people in islands with smaller demographic dimensions.
Internship +
OBJECTIVES
- Enable young people with a qualification equal to or lower than level III of the QNQ, enrolled in the CQE for more than 3 months when they are looking for their 1st job and young people unemployed for more than 6 months, when they are looking for a new job a professional internship in the real work context, which promotes their insertion in active life.
- Complement and improve the socio-professional skills of young people, through the attendance of an internship in a real work situation;
- Facilitate the recruitment and integration of staff in companies through professional internships;
- Promote the transition from the school path of young people to active life;
- Support the establishment of young people in islands with smaller demographic dimensions.
RECIPIENTS
Young people with a qualification equal to or lower than level III of the QNQ (National Qualifications Framework), enrolled in the CQE for more than 3 months, when they are looking for their 1st job, or young people unemployed for more than 6 months, when they are looking for a new job, aged 30 years or less at the date of submission of application.
APPLICATION
The application period for the internships of the ESTAGIAR + program, runs simultaneously, for young people and for the promoting entities, from August 1st to March 31st.
stage L
OBJECTIVES
- Enabling young people with higher education qualifications to have a professional internship in a real work context, which promotes their insertion in working life.
- Complement and improve the socio-professional skills of young people, through the attendance of an internship in a real work situation;
- Facilitate the recruitment and integration of staff in companies through professional internships;
- Promote the transition of young university students from school to active life;
- Support the establishment of young people in islands with smaller demographic dimensions.
RECIPIENTS
- Young recent graduates in higher education, holders of level VI, VII or VIII of the QNQ (National Qualifications Framework), aged 30 years or less at the date of submission of application, who have never held office in the respective training area under the employment contract, after completion of the respective training.
- Young recent graduate is an internship candidate who has completed the respective bachelor's, postgraduate, master's or other applicable course, within the 12 months prior to the date of submission of the application.
- Young people residing in mainland Portugal and in the Autonomous Region of Madeira can undertake an internship in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, provided that they fall within the priority areas to be defined by order of the member of the Regional Government with competence in matters of employment.
CANDIDATURES

stage T
OBJECTIVES
- Enable young people with a level IV or V qualification a professional internship in the real work context, which promotes their insertion in active life.
- Complement and improve the socio-professional skills of young people, through the attendance of an internship in a real work situation;
- Facilitate the recruitment and integration of staff in companies through professional internships;
- Promote the transition from the school path of young people to active life;
- Support the establishment of young people in islands with smaller demographic dimensions.
RECIPIENTS
- Young people who have recently graduated from professional qualification courses, level IV or V of the QNQ (National Qualifications Framework), aged 30 years or less at the date of submission of application, who have never held office in the respective training area under an employment contract, after completion of the respective training.
- A recent graduate is considered to be an internship candidate who has completed the respective training within the 12 months prior to the application submission date.
- Young people residing in mainland Portugal and in the Autonomous Region of Madeira can undertake an internship in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, provided that they fall within the priority areas to be defined by order of the member of the Regional Government with competence in matters of employment.

stage U
OBJECTIVES
- Enable young people who attend university education a professional internship in the real work context, which promotes their insertion in active life;
- Promote the transition of young people from school to active life.
RECIPIENTS
Young students residing in the RAA, aged no more than 30 years on the date of submission of the application, who attend university education in courses leading to a bachelor's or master's degree, or attend a postgraduate course.
CANDIDATURES
Applications take place from May 1 to 31.
