
Azores Youth Observatory
The Youth Observatory of the Azores presents itself as a fundamental instrument in the study and analysis of Azorean youth(s) and a support to support the definition and management of policies, based on strategic guidelines , with objectives and measures, which reinforce the Azorean Youth and the ability to overcome the new challenges.
The Youth Observatory of the Azores, a project developed between the Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Youth and the University of the Azores, through the Interdisciplinary Center for Social Sciences - CICS.UAc/CICS.NOVA.UAc, in addition to allowing the dissemination of up-to-date information of interest to youth, through the web page, will serve as a greater knowledge of this age group and political decision-making.

- Gather, process and systematize, on a regular basis, diverse information that can be made available on the general problem of youth in the Azores, and other aspects that intersect with it;
- Develop dossiers, studies and investigations that are considered relevant to support, guide and improve public policies with an impact on youth issues;
- Follow and monitor actions, programs, projects and public policies under the responsibility of official bodies with responsibility for youth in the Azores;
- Edit and disseminate publications resulting from the activity of the Observatory, or from another source, with an interest in expanding the sphere of knowledge on the theme of Youth;
- Promote seminars, colloquiums, debates and other activities aimed at better understanding the phenomena associated with youth;
- Ensure the link between the Azores Youth Observatory and other similar institutions, national and foreign, namely structures for observation, data collection, research and systematic analysis of young people's problems.
